The Wiggles

My son is now 2 years old and he found The Wiggles!! He is so addicted. He loves them. He now has all of their videos. He has the piano, car, guitar, books, and more. We got him The Wiggles Play Along Xylophone Book for Christmas and he has not stopped playing with it since. He plays and dances. I really think that shows like theirs are good for little ones ~~ It gets them to moving. Great for winter time when they are cooped up in the house all of the time.

Recall Alerts

I just added the recall alert to the sidebar of this blog!I not only want to share toys that are fun for your little ones, but I also want them to be safe.

Jakks Barney Dance & Play Guitar

My son is just 17 months old and just loves Barney. So when we knew that we were going to be getting our 14 year old the new Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock Bundle we knew that our son would want to play with it so we got him his own little guitar! He stands beside his big brother while he is playing his guitar hero and plays with his Jakks Barney Dance & Play Guitar! It is so cute! He really loves this toy and the fun we have watching him play it is great. We do not even need to have a television with him around.

New Toy Reviews Soon

I am sorry that I have not been doing new toy reviews on this blog. I will be back to doing them in a couple of days and will do a new one each week. I have been very busy! It is basketball season and I have been running to games and practices with my son. He is on his 8th grade team. Their last game is the 28th. I should be able to work more on this blog after that. I have a ton of toys to tell about. My little one is now 16 months old and has gotten a lot of new toys. He got some really neat ones for Christmas.

Top Toys 2008

The "Top Toys Awards" are presented each year in New York at the American International Toy Fair. There is a variety of categories from infant up to the older children. The best and brightest toys of the year are picked. The Toy Industry has chosen the following top toys 2008 in each category.

The toy that took the best toy of the year from all categories was the TMX™" Elmo from Fisher-Price®. Elmo has three tickle spots, which are located on his toes, tummy, and chin. Tickle him and he'll start to laugh. It's easy to see why this was one of the best of the Top Toys 2008.

The girl toy of the year is made from Hasbro Inc., and it is the Butterscotch Pony from the FurReal Friends collection. Every girl dreams of having their very own pony and now they can, with the realistic sounds and movements of this lifelike little pony.

The boy toy of the year is the Spy Video Car made by Wild Planet Entertainment Inc. This small remote car has a built in infrared camera so spying on siblings and friends is great fun. You can see that top toys 2008 for both boys and girls are fun and educational.

The top game of the year for both board and CD Rom is Cranium's Zooreka. The whole family can enjoy this game, by building your very own zoo. Every move keeps the players thinking. Wait, there's more than just building a zoo, there's also danger lurking at every move in this game of chance.

There are some great choices if you are in the market for a new toy, but wait - there are more top toys 2008, so let's carry on.

The best outdoor toy for the year was a tough pick but in the end, it was Radio Flyer's Fold 2 Go® Trike. This compact handy trike can go anywhere. It comes fully assembled and folds for easy storage or transport. Now you can take your child's trike to Grandma's house. The low center of gravity makes it very stable.

Educational toys are always a popular choice and this year the toy that was chosen for providing the best skill development was the Small Globe™ 2.0 made by Oregon Scientific. It comes with 30 activities and you can make use of the cordless smartpen to navigate through all the learning activities. Your child will learn countries, populations, currencies, leaders, and so much more.

Every child needs a good activity toy and this year one of the top toys 2007 in this class was the Moon Sand™ from Spin Master. Moon sand is the new play dough. It never dries out and it can be used repeatedly, and it expands to twice the size of the package. It'd designed for ages 3 and up and your kids will find hours of playtime here.

In our modern world, electronics are important so this year the Digital Camera from Fisher Price ® is the top pick in top toys 2008 placement. There's a lot of high technology in this Kid tough camera that will keep the imagination flowing.

We've covered just a few of the top toys 2008 choices, however there are others, and what's important when buying your children toys is to buy quality, well built products, that stimulate, and help your child grow.

Parent Blog

Make sure that you check out our parent blog that is the main blog to this review blog. I started this blog after starting Baby Times just for a place where I could tell other parents about the toys and supplies that I have been using and love for my little one who just turned one a month ago!! We will all learn and evolve together.

The Farmer Says

This is such a great toy for kids. The Farmer Says is fun for little ones and they learn something from it. My one year old son just loves this and will sit and play with it for the longest time. He just giggles and claps while playing with it.

Generate Backlinks

I found this great idea to generate back links to your site at the blog of Courtney Tuttle. It is very much like the ViraLink from Andy Coates, except you are able to add anchor text into your link. Jimmy Huen from FoundersCafe came up with this idea.

If you join today you will likely get a nice payoff. I’m betting that this ‘tag matrix’ will fill all the way up.

==========Copy and Paste below this line==========

Instructions:

1.) Copy and paste the matrix of “ViralTags” below courtesy of Founders Cafe.

2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “Viral Tags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice with your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a max of 3 words to keep the matrix size manageable.

3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “Viral Tags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “Viral Tags” below.

4.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this can grow virally.

Important: Once I get a ping back from you, I will add your anchor text and the associated link you designate as “Host Tag” here, replacing one of the “ViralTags” from the matrix above. As more and more bloggers copy and paste this matrix, the more backlinks you will have with your anchor text. If everybody who copy and paste from your blog does the same, pretty soon this will spread and go viral. So, the sooner you participate, the more links with anchor text you will receive.

Organizing Your Kids' Toys

If your house is anything like mine, toys tend to take over almost every room in your home. At some point during the day, there are usually toys in the kitchen, family room, and TV room all at the same time. Such is life with kids. So when it’s time to clean up, I make sure that every one of those toys has a home to go to. All it takes is a little organization. Here are a few ideas to help you keep those toys organized in your home.

Contain the smaller items.

Action figures, small toy cars, dress-up jewelry, and Barbie dolls and accessories are just some of the things that can be put in containers for easy small toy organization. If you can, stackable is the way to go here. Stackable containers give you more space and are easier to organize. Shoe boxes (plastic or cardboard) work well for these smaller items. You can even get the kids more interested in using the boxes if you let them personalize them. Get a sheet of stickers and let them go crazy on the box. Using different colored labels for the different boxes that the items go into can help kids who can’t read yet put the right item in the right box.

Nets and shelves.

Nets that stretch over corners can work well to hold lots of stuffed animals. If you’d rather display the stuffed animals so that you can see them, shelves are good way to go. Shelves also work well for putting away all of those containers you have of all the smaller toys. It also works well for those medium sized toys that are too small for the floor but too big to go much of anywhere else. Adjustable shelving (the kind that has brackets that screw into the wall) that can grow and change as your child grows and changes is the best investment. Many adjustable shelving units can be changed and modified into a computer desk for older children.

Getting rid of the old stuff.

Because your child is sure to get more toys on his/her birthday and at special holidays, make sure that you schedule time to get rid of the old toys. Ideally, you want to get rid of toys that your child no longer plays with and has outgrown. If your child is old enough, have them participate in helping you get rid of the toys. If you will be donating the old toys, go through the toys with your child and explain that you are giving away his/her old toys so that a child that doesn’t have toys can enjoy them. Also explaining that he/she will be getting new toys shortly can help ease the blow too.

Jill Seader offers a home organization website at YourHomeIsOrganized.com with articles and resources to help you get your home organized. An ebook, 5 Simple Steps For Organizing Every Room Of Your Home, is also offered to help you in your home organization journey. Happy Organizing!

Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo

The Fisher-Price Rainforest Jumperoo is probably the best thing I could have gotten when my son was a couple of months old. It was a life saver. I could actually get some house work done. Just put him in this to play and set it by me when I was doing dishes, laundry, or whatever and he just loved it. He was still seeing mommy and having fun playing.
